Sarracenia leucophylla var. Tarnok

Tarnok is an easy-to-grow Pitcher Plant that adds interest to any bog or stream. It has especially showy pom-pom-like flowers that show off whirls of red and green in early spring. Tarnok’s impressive colors often last late into the fall after other Pitcher Plants have faded.

Sarracenia minor

The Hooded Pitcher Plant is known – unsurprisingly – for its rounded hoods that partially cover the top of each pitcher. These hoods are typically red with white speckles (areoles) along the back. This species is native to coastal regions of the Southeastern U.S.

Sarracenia ‘Judith Hindle’

This gorgeous Sarracenia boasts bright green pitchers that transition to deep red at the ruffled lid. These red tops are speckled with eye-catching white speckles.

Judith Hindle is a hybrid of several Sarracenia species, including Sarracenia flava, S. purpurea, and S. leucophylla. Like other Pitcher Plants, Judith Hindle is carnivorous and traps bugs inside its hard-to-escape pitchers.

Sarracenia purpurea ‘Jersey Girl’

Dark red pitchers have pretty bright green veining. Red flowers loom overhead in spring and summer.

Jersey Girl traces its roots, as the name suggests to New Jersey, making it one of the more winter-hardy pitcher plants. Like other Sarracenia plants, the carnivorous Jersey Girl uses her pitcher’s to trap unsuspecting insects.

Sarracenia x Carolina Yellow Jacket

Chartreuse pitchers have unique pointed hoods. A prolific grower and a great choice for water gardeners who have little experience with carnivorous plants.

Like other Pitcher Plants, carnivorous Yellow Jacket traps bugs in its pitchers, where it slowly digests them. This cultivar traces its roots to S. purpurea, flava and rosea.
